It is in year 2000, in Beijing, when loupchante is identified formally as such, although it was more than 2 decades before when he started his trajectory as a graphic artist, photographer and videoartist.
We can say that, already from very little, his vision of the world has been particular and differentiated, and that his relationship with society has been marked by a maybe excessive sensitivity. Evidence of this is the sentence that little loupchante pronounced a day of visit to the circus, seated on the lap of his mother, very near the cage of the lions:”mummy, this lobo (wolf in spanish) frightens me”.
Already in secondary school, he showed great interest in several techniques of plastic arts. Of all, the collage was the one that fascinated him more, seeing that joining thousand pieces of thousand different stories, a new story could be created.
Little afterwards loupchante gets in touch with the typographies, the plots, the letraset, the rotrings and the pantones, carrying out the first works of graphic design in a study in Barcelona. At the same time he enters the world of photography, led by his grandfather, portraitist and photographer of profession, and son at his time of painter and portrait photographer. With him he discovers, amazed, the magic of photographic developing, learns how to work the light, the contrasts, the tonalities and, especially, he was fascinated by the ancient techniques of pictures finishing touch.
Finally, at the last stage, he gets in contact with the video, the digital photography and the computers, achieving to have all techniques that have always fascinated him in a click of distance. Adding up the current technology with the processes lived in the past, we obtain that loupchante’s creations are characterized by their meticulousness, simplicity, detailedness, elegance and concretion.
In spite of this loupchante has not stopped growing and evolving, as a person and as a professional of graphic and digital arts, and has acquired experience and security. Even so he confesses that, sometimes, when the looong tail of the lobo passes too near, it still frightens him.
